Courses - general information. our courses seek to extend traditional wooden boatbuilding knowledge and skills. they are designed for those seeking either recreational experience in relation to wooden boat building or for those wishing to enter the boat building industry.. The 12 week course offers people the opportunity to design and make a piece of furniture in addition to gaining city & guilds and boat building academy certification. all boat building academy courses have been developed by and are exclusive to the boat building academy.. We welcome locals and visitors, individuals and groups, to join one of our many short courses to experience the satisfaction, achievement and camaraderie of hand building wooden boats. you're also invited to drop by for a tour to explore the age old craft of wooden boat building. we hope to see you at the centre soon..
The victorian wooden boat centre. for the last 30 years, the victorian wooden boat centre has been operating in melbourne's docklands. over this time it has served continuously to provide members of our community with an opportunity to learn and practice traditional and contemporary boat building skills.. Boat building courses: we run aluminium welding and boat building courses five times per year. the courses are run at our premesis, and are scheduled as weekly intensive courses. the courses are designed to teach the welding and boatbuilding techniques required to build a boat.. The short course programme is designed so that people can join one course or, if they wish to build a more extensive training programme, a series of courses. a series of short courses is an alternative for those who are unable to join the 40 week course or who want to learn a more specific range of skills..
